Perfume Genie

Follow these steps:
  • Download the Rituals Genie app from the App Store or Google Play Store. 
  • Log in with your Rituals account or create one.
  • Follow the app instructions to set up your Perfume Genie. Enjoy your personalized fragrance experience.
  • After set up, you can control your Perfume Genie with your Google Home or Alexa device; simply follow the steps in the App to set this up.
If you have a problem with your Perfume Genie, it might just take something really simple to get your Perfume Genie to work again. Try these steps:

Check the cartridge:
When installing the cartridge make sure to position it with the black base down and fit it in the groove. There is a white sticker on the base of the cartridge, please make sure this is intact as this is the chip that the Genie 'reads' for information. Do not remove the sticker.
  • Your cartridge is full, but you are still being alerted in the app that the cartridge is empty? This could be due to a faulty chip on the cartridge. Luckily, your Genie will continue working perfectly according to the set schedule.
  • Is your cartridge empty? That's why your Genie isn't working. You can replace the cartridge with a new one. Rituals cartridges are the only compatible cartridges.

Check the WiFi connection:
Ensure the Wi-Fi signal is sufficient. You can check the strength of the Wi-Fi connection on the homepage of the app on the middle-left side. If it does not work, briefly press the Reset button underneath the Genie.
If there was a change in your Wi-Fi settings (password change or new network), you will need to disconnect and reset your Perfume Genie before connecting it again. Complete the following steps:
  • To disconnect the Perfume Genie, open the Genie app. Click on the Settings icon at the bottom right, then select the Genie on the top. Scroll down and select “device information,” scroll down again, and select ‘Remove Genie’.
  • Then reset the Genie in one of the following ways:
    • Perfume Genie 1.0: Press and hold the Factory Reset button for 2 seconds.
    • Perfume Genie 2.0: Press the Connect button on the bottom of the Perfume Genie for at least 12 seconds. When the LED light turns red, let go of the button and the light will turn blue.
  • Your Perfume Genie is now ready to be connected again through the Genie App. Go through the onboarding flow in the app.

Check placement of the Perfume Genie and/or cartridge:
Place the Perfume Genie on a level surface. Only use the genie indoors and a normal temperature. For the best experience, place the Perfume Genie in a central place in your home, about 1.5 meters above the floor and away from draughts. Avoid moving the Perfume Genie, as much as possible, when a cartridge is installed.

Please have the LOT number of your Perfume Genie (found under the QR code at the bottom of your Perfume Genie) at hand.
 
Yes, you can manually operate The Perfume Genie using the 'perfume on/off' button on the side, which automatically turns off after 1 hour. For app connection support, please press the question mark button on the homepage of the app to chat with your Genie assistant, or contact our Customer Relations team.
One cartridge provides you with 270 hours of your favourite home fragrance, lasting approximately three months, luxury is meant to last. It effortlessly infuses spaces up to 80 m² with your favourite home fragrance. 
When there has been a change to your Wi-Fi network settings (password change or new Wi-Fi network), you need to reset the Perfume Genie. First, you must remove the Perfume Genie from the app and perform a factory reset before you can reconnect via the Genie app.

Complete the following steps:
  1. To disconnect the Perfume Genie, open the Genie app. Click on the Settings icon at the bottom right, then select the Genie on the top. Scroll down and select “device information,” scroll down again, and select ‘Remove Genie’.
  2. Then reset the Genie in one of the following ways:
    • Perfume Genie 1.0: Press and hold the Factory Reset button for 2 seconds.
    • Perfume Genie 2.0: Press the Connect button on the bottom of the Perfume Genie for at least 12 seconds. When the LED light turns red, let go of the button and the light will turn blue.
  3. Your Perfume Genie is now ready to be connected again through the Genie App. Go through the onboarding flow in the app.
It is normal for the fan to turn off while the Genie is actively diffusing fragrance. The period of time the fan is ‘on’ depends on the room size you have chosen in the app.
There are several things you can do if you would like to enjoy a more intense fragrance. First, please check the suggestions in the section "My Perfume Genie doesn't work anymore. What should I do?" to ensure that your Genie is working correctly. If your Perfume Genie is working normally and your cartridge is not empty, there are a few possible reasons why the scent may not be very strong:
  • The settings in the app need to be adjusted. Go to Preferences to adjust the room size and the intensity of the fragrance.
  • You have become accustomed to the scent, which can happen when you are regularly exposed to the same fragrance. You can try keeping your Perfume Genie switched off for a few days or move it to another room, then check if you can notice the fragrance better. Another option is to ask someone outside of your household if they can perceive the fragrance. If this is the case, you might try another fragrance for your next refill. The Genie assistant in the app or the Customer Relations team will be happy to recommend a stronger fragrance you will love.

If the Perfume Genie is working correctly and the fragrance cannot be perceived, please contact our Customer Relations team for assistance. 
 
For your convenience, and to save fragrance, the Perfume Genie will turn off after 60 minutes when you turn it on manually. 

You can create Schedules within the App to turn your Perfume Genie on and off at set times. Within the App, go to Schedule to choose or create a weekly schedule for your Perfume Genie. You can select the days and times you want your Genie to be activated.
 
Place The Perfume Genie in any room up to 80 m². By using The Perfume Genie app, you can adjust the fragrance intensity however you like. For an optimal experience, position The Perfume Genie centrally, about 1.5 metres above the floor, away from draughts, on a level indoor surface. Avoid moving it when a cartridge is in use. Keep away from heat, flames, artwork, and water sources.
If the adapter’s case is broken or damaged, remove it from the power outlet and replace it with an original Rituals Perfume Adapter. Only use the supplied Rituals Perfume Power Adapter. Contact our Customer Relations team for a new adapter.
Do not clean the Perfume Genie when it is turned on or connected to a power source. To prevent scratches, use a soft, dry cloth to clean the product (preferably micro fibre). Do not use cleaning products and do not submerge the Perfume Genie or cartridge in water.

When storing the Perfume Genie, remove the cartridge and make sure it is turned off and unplugged.
 
The Perfume Genie has the following dimensions: 140mm x 140mm x 160mm (l x w x h).

The Perfume Genie weighs 716 grams (without a cartridge).
 
The Perfume Genie has a warranty period of two years. Any complaints that are a result of material and/or factory error will be handled within the warranty period free of charge.

The issued warranty is not valid in the following cases: 
  • Defects resulting from operating the product in a manner other than is normal and customary.
  • Defects due to improper maintenance, installation, adjustment, unauthorised software applications, or any alteration or modification of any kind.
  • Damages or defects resulting from using unoriginal components, such as cartridges.
  • For damages that occur during transport;
  • For normal wear and tear of product;
  • When the product has been opened and/or the cover sticker is damaged.
Empty cartridges can be thrown into the glass recycling bin. Please keep in mind that electronic parts are not allowed to be disposed of with the household garbage but should be separated and discarded of in a matter dictated by local regulations.
